WFU VIRTUAL STUDY ABROAD FAIR
PSY 260: Intro to Social Psychology (3hrs) (D)
Intro to Social Psychology is a course on how people relate to and process information about others. In this course, students will learn about how people relate to others emotionally, how they think about others cognitively, and how they judge others.
Vienna, Austria is a perfect place to study social psychology. Students will be able to draw on their own experiences trying to communicate their emotions to people who speak a different language, as well observe how people from different cultures express their emotions toward each other by going to a main gathering point in the city such as the Maria Theresien-Platz, Stadtpark or the famous Naschmarkt. To learn about the impact of social processes and emotions on mental health, we will visit the Kirche am Steinhof, a church built in a mental asylum. In addition, students will have a chance to visit the Freud Museum to learn about the father of the unconscious mind.
